About Lisa Mason
Lisa Mason is an experienced dance teacher and an Associate of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD), with a lifelong passion for dance.
Lisa opened the Lisa Mason School of Dance in October 2005, creating a school where dancers of different ages and abilities could learn, develop and enjoy performing. Her teaching has covered a wide range of styles, from ballet, modern, tap and acro to street dance, adult dance and line dancing.
Over the years, Lisa and LMSD have created opportunities that extend far beyond the weekly dance class. Dancers have worked towards examinations, appeared in LMSD productions, pantomimes and community events, and performed on West End stages.
At the heart of Lisa's approach is the belief that learning to dance takes hard work, but should also be great fun — and that performing brings a thrill all of its own.
Lisa Mason School of Dance
Since opening in October 2005, Lisa Mason School of Dance has grown into a welcoming dance school where dancers of all ages and abilities can learn, develop and enjoy performing.
LMSD offers a wide range of dance styles, from ballet, tap and modern to contemporary, street dance, musical theatre and acro. Younger dancers can begin their journey with First Steps, while adults can also enjoy dance through classes including line dancing.
Learning and progression are an important part of life at LMSD. Dancers have the opportunity to work towards British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD) examinations, developing their technique, knowledge and confidence while gaining a real sense of achievement.
But LMSD has always been about more than examinations and classes. Performing is at the heart of the school. Over the years, dancers have taken part in LMSD stage shows, pantomimes, community events and performances on West End stages.
In 2022, LMSD moved into its purpose-built studios at Hollands Road in Haverhill, giving the school a permanent home with dedicated facilities for dancers to learn, rehearse and perform.
The aim has always remained the same: to share a love of dance, help every dancer achieve their potential and make sure they enjoy the journey along the way.
